Expertise

Presently, my lab focuses on 

1) Dietary interventions for modulation of the gut microbiome in relation to health and disease. In particular, we are trying to understand the cross talk between pre-, pro- and post- biotics for their influence on colon health via gut microbiota modulation.

2) My team also works on nanobiotechnology based approaches to develop biosensing (aptamers, enzymes, antibodies, affimers etc.) methods to detect food contaminants, foodborne pathogens and microbial toxins. In this direction, my lab particularly specializes in generation of novel oligonucleotide aptamers and enzymes for their application in developing optical biosensors.
