Area of interest

My group is working to understand the interaction between food and the gut microbiome which regulate gut microbial dynamics and brain functions. Based on my initial hypothesis (Ann. Rev. food Sci Technol, 2013, 4:21-34, https://doi.org/10.1146/annurev-food-030212-182525), the central theme of my research is Interaction between food and the gut microbiome plays a crucial role in the regulation of mucosal immunity and neurological functions. We are currently trying to address 1. Influences of prebiotics and dietary component on the structure and functional dynamics of the gut microbiome and mucosal immunity 2. Regulation of polysaccharide utility loci (PUL) expression by specific nutritional interventions for consortium based personalized nutrition
