CSIR-CFTRI under AcSIR invites applications from eligible candidates for full-time Doctoral (Ph.D.) Research Programme in Sciences and Engineering for the August 2026 session.

1. Ph.D. Sciences (Biological Sciences and Chemical Sciences) :

Qualifying Degree :

A 2-year / 4-semester Master’s degree in Science after a 3-year / 6-semester Bachelor's degree in Science, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point-scale

OR

A 4-year / 8-semester Bachelor's degree in Science with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregae or its equivalent grade on a point-scale.

A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS).

Eligible categories :

National-level fellowship(Tenable at all AcSIR Associated Research Institutes except ICMR Institutes): Applicant should have a valid National-level Fellowship of any funding agency (e.g. CSIR, ICMR, UGC, DBT, INSPIRE, RGNF, etc).

OR

Temporary project staffof AcSIR Associated Research Institutes (Tenable at all AcSIR Associated Research Institutes except ICMR Institutes): Project Assistants, Senior Research Fellows, and other temporary project staff. NOC from the current employer is mandatory.

OR

Industry/Institute Sponsored candidates(Tenable at all AcSIR Associated Research Institutes except ICMR Institutes): Permanent Employees working in an Industry; Permanent Scientific/Technical employees of Associated Research Institutes of AcSIR. NOC from the current employer (Industry/Institute) is mandatory.

2. Ph.D. Engineering :

Qualifying Degree :

A 2-year / 4-semester Master's degree in Engineering/Technology after a 4-year / 8-semester Bachelor’s degree, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point-scale

A 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point-scale.

Additional Information :

1. Applicants whose final results are awaited, but are otherwise eligible as per the criteria, can also apply. If selected, they will be provisionally admitted to the program. Their continuation in the program will be subject to securing required percentage/ equivalent grade (depending on the cut-off marks for screening for the specific program), submission of marks-sheet of their final result, and meeting the other eligibility criteria, at the time of joining the program.


2. The tuition fee once paid by the student selected for PhD admission to any AcSIR Research Institute, is transferable to any other AcSIR-associated institute, where the student has been also selected for admission in the PhD program (including being selected from the waiting list), subject to the availability of seats. The tuition fee would only be transferable till the commencement of the academic session, as notified by AcSIR-HQs. for admission to that particular semester.

Selection:

Selection for admission to Ph.D. programmes of AcSIR at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru shall be on the basis of Aptitude tests/Interviews (online or in person) of shortlisted Candidates to be held at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru.Candidates are advised to visit the AcSIR website for dates of interview.

No TA & DA shall be paid to the shortlisted Candidates for attending the Aptitude tests/interviews at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru. Further, they should make their own arrangements for accommodation and food.
