About the Centre
The Centre of Excellence on Millets is a state-of-the-art facility created to benefit farmers and consumers by strengthening the production of millets. This nutritious and sustainable grain is gaining global recognition, and with support from the State Government, the centre is designed to bolster India's role in the global millet market.
The centre is a hub for research, development and entrepreneurship. It is equipped with advanced technology and provides expert support to help start-ups and small businesses create innovative millet-based products. The goal is to improve processing techniques and add value to millet products, making them more popular and accessible to a wider market.
By bringing together entrepreneurs, researchers and industry experts, the centre aims to drive advances in millet technology and commercialisation. The initiative supports India's commitment to food security and sustainable agriculture, while helping to revive traditional grains and support the farmers who grow them.
