Internship

Details for applying for a summer or short-term internship at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, effective from November 2025.

Eligibility

Summer and short-term internships are offered to graduate and postgraduate students of other universities and academic institutions, to complete the requirements of their degree or course.
Students must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) in the completed semesters of that degree.

The internship lasts 2 months and includes a brief research component under a mentor.
Students coming as a group (at least 15 and up to 30 students) from another academic institution can attend for up to 1 month, as an exposure visit.
At the end of the internship, the trainee receives a completion certificate on submitting a brief report (individual or collective).
The report may not be published in any form, except for the academic degree requirement of the trainee's own college, institute or university.
The Institute does not provide accommodation during the internship.

₹10,000 plus GST as applicable (₹11,800 in total), paid in full through NEFT before the date given in the selection email.
Students belonging to SC/ST categories get a 50% concession on the fee.

Apply at least one month before the proposed start date. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Attach a recommendation letter from the Head of Department of your college or university, on its letterhead, signed and sealed, stating the dates and duration of the proposed internship.
